A Pay Phone!

I can remember teaching my kids to use a pay when they were little, and soon afterwards all the pay phones disappeared.

Or, so I thought.

I found this one on Main Street.

  1. There are around a thousand pay phones still left in Sweden, but they are being dismantled and will be history in 2015. When I grew up, in the late 70´s and early 80´s, there were 44.000 phote booths in this country. They used to be orange. They are in museums now: http://www.tekniskamuseet.se/1/1759.html

That´s a cute painting behind your phone.

    1. I thought it was cute, too. Back in the day (as recently as the late 80s-early 90s) pay phones were all Superman-like booths -gray/silver metal & glass boxes similar to the 1978 photos at your website- or they were little shelves on walls in shopping centers. It had been years since I had seen one of any kind until I saw this one.
