Man Without a Star

Man Without a Star is a 1955 Western directed by King Vidor and starring Kirk Douglas, Jeanne Crain, Claire Trevor and William Campbell. I'm not a big Kirk Douglas fan. In this one, Douglas plays a drifter who gets caught up in a range war. Standard Western fare. Not bad, just not much to recommend it above a lot of others.

DVD Bearer calls it a "Very solid western". Timeout calls it "A fine, edgy Western, handsomely shot by Russell Metty and beautifully paced by Vidor" and praises the performances. TCM has an overview.
