Based on a true story, End of the Spear tells of the 5 missionaries martyred in Ecuador in the 1950's. The movie tells of the redemption that followed.
Wikipedia has an article on the mission group the movie is about. Jim Eliot was the one who started the efforts to evangelize this particular people, but the film focuses on the pilot Nate Saint and his son.
